BP’s Klara Andrup scores a hat-trick in 4-1 victory over AIK – Practice Match Recap

BP got a good start on the upload ahead of the third Allsvenskan season. After, among other things, a nice hat-trick by Klara Andrup, it was 4-1 against AIK in the end.

It is sometimes said that the results in practice matches are not that important because it is mainly about playing the team together and testing game systems. BP’s Saturday victory against AIK still felt very nice, I think, given AIK’s return to the top league and certain signs of a greater investment in the women’s team from their side. Having said that, and without making too many big changes, we can state that we got to see a lot of what we hope to see during this year’s competitive matches as well. Spearhead Klara Andrup scored a fine hat-trick in three different ways. Young promise Vera Blom played until two goals and scored one of her own and was very active on her right wing. Wilma Wärulf’s left foot and Sara Olai’s right foot were each responsible for a goal-scoring pass. The five-back line with new Emilia Hjertberg in the center looked stable already.

In the first half, we saw three goals from BP, all scored by Klara Andrup. After barely ten minutes, she received a nice pass from Vera Blom and was able to get the ball in behind Serina Backmark on the second attempt. Even for the second goal, which Andrup headed in from close range, Vera Blom was responsible for the pass after a fine attack with Frida Thörnqvist and Julia Olsson also involved. The third goal came after a fantastically fine deep pass from Sara Olai’s right foot, which partly had precision in the direction, partly came at the perfect moment. Andrup had a free way forward and made no mistake against the threatening Backmark.

The second half continued roughly like the first with BP as the better team and after twenty minutes Vera Blom scored a controlled 4-0 after a pass from Wilma Wärulf. The match felt decided and played well with many substituted players in both teams. Jennie Nordin sprinkled in a reduction after a bit of pinball in BP’s penalty area, but then only a couple of minutes remained.

All in all, it was a fine debut match that gives hope for the future. Good game, a couple of really nice goals and as far as I could see no injuries. Despite Andrup’s three goals, I give Vera Blom’s effort the highest rating of the day.

In addition to the new acquisitions from Uppsala Emilia Hjertberg and Ellinor Johansson, Tuva Ölvestad (new from Boo), Emma Theorén (F19, new from Sollentuna) and Vera Österplan (F19) were also aired. Alice Ahlberg and Line Wessman rested due to some injuries. Augusta Priks, who signed an A-team contract, is at the national team meeting.
