Bpost will increase the stamp rates early next year. Non-prior stamps are 9 percent more expensive, prior stamps even a third. This is evident from the new rates published by the postal company on Friday.

The increase – from January 1 – means that it will no longer be possible to buy a stamp that costs less than one euro. Now you still pay 0.98 euros per non-prior stamp if you buy it per ten, which will be 1.07 euros next year. Each non-prior stamp will cost 1.10 euros (compared to 1.01 euros now).
Next year you pay 1.57 euros (per purchase of ten) or 1.60 euros each for prior stamps. Now that is 1.18 and 1.21 euros respectively.
The regulator BIPT approved the new prices. “The average rate increase is 10.5 percent for the ‘small user package’ as a whole,” he says in a press release. In addition to the prior and non-prior letters, this package also includes the single-piece rates for registered items, parcels and outgoing cross-border mail. According to BIPT, the rate increase is in line with that of 2020 (then +11.4 percent).
