Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM RI) head Penny K Lukito revealed the latest update regarding the pharmaceutical industry producing drug syrups that don’t meet standards. In addition to PT Yarindo Farmatama and Universal Pharmaceutical companies, PT Afi Pharma is also a manufacturer that does not meet quality or efficacy standards for the production of syrup drugs.
“We found paracetamol syrup, paracetamol syrup, peppermint flavoring produced by PT Afi Pharma. So there is a third manufacturer suspected of having criminal elements. He said during a press conference on Monday (10/31/2022).
Currently, the industry is subject to sanctions in the form of the withdrawal and destruction of its products by BPOM RI.
“Because we found that there are 7 products that have levels that exceed the standard and there are also raw materials that show that they exceed the standard,” he said again.
“PT Universal and PT Afi pharma are related 102. However, during the development of the test sampling, another one was found, namely PT Yarindo,” he said again.
