An open arrest warrant was to be executed against a 43-year-old when he was checked by the federal police on a long-distance train near Freiburg im Breisgau. Since the man could not pay the outstanding fine, he now has to serve a 118-day prison sentence.

Late on Thursday evening (April 21, 2022), a 43-year-old German citizen was checked by a Federal Police patrol on a long-distance train near Freiburg im Breisgau as part of the intensified manhunt. When comparing the data, it was determined that an arrest warrant was to be executed against him. The man was sentenced to a fine of 5,900 euros by a court for dangerous bodily harm. The convict failed to make any payment to the court cashier, which is why he was put out for a manhunt. Since the wanted person was unable to pay the required fine on the spot, he was arrested by the federal police and taken to a prison to serve the 118-day substitute prison sentence.
