Essen – Mülheim an der Ruhr (ots)

Tonight (11 August) the federal police arrested a young man in Essen. The man carried a knife. The probable reason was curious. At around 2 am, a patrol of the federal police checked a 19-year-old in Essen’s main train station. The man from Mülheim an der Ruhr was questioned about prohibited or dangerous objects. He reluctantly admitted that he was carrying a knife. The Syrian citizen handed over a knife with a fixed blade of about 12 cm to the emergency services.

He explained that he wanted to cut the fruit with the knife in the station. However, the officers were unable to find variations of fruit either inside or in front of the station or in human possessions.

Federal police officers seized the knife and initiated investigations into violations of the gun law.
