BPJS Kesehatan claimed that Indra Bekti was indeed registered as a JKN participant and had an active status. But there are things that make your brain haemorrhage surgery not covered by BPJS Health.
“His condition was really sudden. So what I know is that he was broadcasting on one of the radios, he suddenly got sick and usually sent to the nearest hospital service. Because coincidentally Abdi Waluyo Hospital didn’t cooperate with BPJS Health, so his status is not a JKN patient,” explained BPJS Health Branch Chief Herman Dinata when meeting in Salemba area, Central Jakarta.
As a JKN participant, Indra Bekti is entitled to receive assistance for brain hemorrhage surgery costs which are borne by BPJS Kesehatan. However, as the hospital is not currently a BPJS referral hospital, costs are not covered.
However, Herma said that if Indra Bekti’s condition is stable afterwards and he needs further treatment, he can use JKN by choosing a hospital that is already working with him.
We offer many alternative solutions so that at any time when the condition is stable they still need additional services, whether inpatient or outpatient during checkup, they can use JKN,” he said.
Brain haemorrhagic surgery covered by BPJS
If you are registered as a participant in the BPJS card, according to regulation No. 52 of 2016 of the Minister of Health concerning the standard rates of the health service in the implementation of the health insurance program, the surgery for blood vessel rupture or brain hemorrhage is paid by the government.
The terms and conditions to receive brain haemorrhage surgery services are to have an active BPJS health card. According to these rules, patients will receive inpatient facilities at a referral hospital with three classes at different rates depending on the class.
