Liputan6.com, Jakarta BPJS Kesehatan guarantee service fees for 14 Non-Communicable Diseases (PTM) screening. PTM screening, which contributes to deaths in Indonesia, is mainly carried out at First Level Health Facilities (FKTP) such as Puskesmas.
The Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Dante Saksono Harbuwono said that one of the cancer screenings must be done earlier. According to him, early detection of cancer through screening is expected to reduce mortality from this chronic disease.
Implementation of screening fee claims is regulated in Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 3 of 2023 concerning Standard Health Service Tariffs in the Implementation of the Health Insurance Program.
“For example, utilization for cancer detection. If the detection of this cancer can be added by conducting screening from the start, then the cancer can be detected at an earlier stage,” said Dante during a Working Meeting with Commission IX of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, written Monday (13/2/2023 ).
“So that treatment becomes better and this will certainly be beneficial also with better curative clinical aspects and outcome better way to reduce mortality in cancer patients.”
The 14 non-communicable disease screenings in question, namely congenital hyperthyroidism, thalassemia, anemia and childhood cancer. Then stroke, heart attack, hypertension, non-infectious lung disease, tuberculosis, lung cancer, hepatitis, diabetes, breast cancer, cervical cancer, and colon cancer.
