When I met Boyko,
to me he was the sun and the wild moon.
When I met Boyko,
I felt warmth caress me again,
I walked towards him barefoot, out of breath along the Southern Rainbow.
This is sung in a song dedicated to the former Prime Minister and leader of GERB Boyko Borisov, which caused a stir on social networks with dozens of comments and shares. The video and music is an interpretation of ABBA’s famous song Fernando, with two women and two men wearing wigs and visibly resembling the musicians of the Swedish vocal quartet. The Bulgarian video was published on YouTube at the end of March and so far has more than 23 thousand views.
However, the song outraged journalist Georgi Toshev, who shared it on his Facebook profile. “Parody or truth? I look forward to your comment! I don’t know if it’s for laughter or tears… I thought I’d seen it all, but…” he wrote, and below dozens commented whether it was a joke or a praise of the former prime minister.
However, “Song for Boyko” was created five years ago. “The video is from about 5 years ago and is a skit from the “Channel Show” on BNT,” actor Sevar Ivanov, who participated in the clip, told “24 Chasa”. Apparently the video has been pulled from the archives and is now gaining popularity again.
