A few days earlier, photos were leaked in the media and on the Internet, from which it is clear that Boyko Rashkov and the arrested Marin and Stefan Dimitrovi know each other. There were also photos from personal celebrations of the ex-minister of the interior and a current MP from the PP-DB, which were attended by the father and son from Haskovo, who were pointed out as being close to the smuggler Pascal, who was also announced for extortion in connection with the “customs gang”.
“The Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs came with them (on his birthday – note ed.). I also know them, of course. But what can I say – those behind, those ahead? People come to congratulate me. When someone comes to visit at your place and congratulated you on a relevant holiday, aren’t you asking him about the current criminal situation? How can I assume that someone might be engaged in such activity and the chief secretary might be in contact with them,” Boyko explained two days ago Rashkov.
In addition to the photo from his birthday, footage of unconfirmed authenticity has also appeared in recent days, showing Kotsev with a small poodle, and several other photos of the same dog with stacks of wads of euros. In one of the images, Rashkov is seen again, but sitting in a restaurant with the dog by his side. “Let them get as many dogs and cats as they want. I have them at home too. Let them prove these smuggling channels, these are the crucial questions, not now who has a dog and who doesn’t. This is the level of the prosecutor’s office,” commented Rashkov to Genka Shikerova in ” Free Europe”.
According to the former interior minister, as a young man, Stefan Dimitrov liked to show off his acquaintances with famous people and send them to his friends. “This thing is maniacal and does not aim at anything. The main goal is to pretend that he is in Sofia, and he is from Haskovo, and contacts at high levels,” Rashkov believes.

There are also other contradictions,” Rashkov pointed out. “Why he to me already as chief secretary, maintaining relations with these people, explains this with loyalty to me – I cannot give a meaningful answer. (…) It is a question of pressure on this person (b.a. Zhivko Kotsev) . If what we found out is true – that threats and threats were made to him, if he does not sign his resignation, this borders on a crime under the Criminal Code.”
According to Rashkov, Kalin Stoyanov remained at the head of the Ministry of the Interior because he won the trust of GERB and DPS to assist them during the elections.
