Two parties mainly buy votes in our country – GERB and MRF. This was announced at a briefing by the acting Minister of Interior Boyko Rashkov.
“All the photos and materials are for these two parties. This is how some politicians want to take power by committing a crime. Naturally, the Bulgarian citizen wants to know where these sums, which are included in the election process, come from,” Rashkov said.
According to him, the money for this comes from the so-called asphalt saga – not only related to the Hemus Motorway, but also to other similar sites.
“The issue with the so-called repairs of dams, which are more than 400, is identical, and the beginning of these repairs began at the same time as the first few lots of the Hemus Motorway began,” Rashkov explained.
He announced that in Varna the money that was prepared for distribution to people on lists is about BGN 200,000. This money is with advertising materials of GERB. An amount was also found in Ruse – levs, currency and gold, worth about BGN 200,000, where the preparation was for the MRF.
In Blagoevgrad, the Interior Ministry received information about a woman who had nominated a municipal councilor from the MRF and that there were materials in the office of this political party related to preparations for vote buying.
“I am not aware that the prosecutor’s office has so far assisted the police authorities in carrying out an inspection to establish whether the allegations are credible,” Rashkov said.

“Instead of politicians encouraging the actions of the Ministry of Interior, they run to those whom we accuse of criminal activity and do everything possible to exonerate them, as if they were judges, prosecutors, etc. In many cases, the prosecutor’s office is of the opinion of the police authorities, “the interior minister commented.

Intimidation of MoI employees
The Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior Petar Todorov announced an attempt to intimidate the director of the regional directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Shumen. The reason for this is the case with the hunting farm “Palmara” in Shumen, which was sold for the amount of BGN 155,000 without VAT to a fictitious company.
According to him, this was taken as a decision by order of the Minister of Agriculture by 2017.

They opened a tender procedure, the initial price was BGN 154,910. One candidate appeared and he gave more than the initially announced price of BGN 90 and won the tender, “Todorov explained.
During the inspection of the substitute, it was established that he did not even have the keys to a large part of the buildings.
“Subsequently, a year after the property became private, a road of several kilometers was built, for which about BGN 780,000 without VAT are given. The road is asphalted and doors are built. It passes to the buildings, a parking lot is built with these funds. “and large gates are being built to be locked when there are important guests. In this way, the passage of people living there between the villages of Dennitsa and Osenovets is prevented,” said the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior.
The director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Shumen has been warned that if he continues to dig in this direction, he will be removed after the elections.
A similar threat was made to another director from a neighboring region. In this case, a huge number of citizens were identified who suddenly became ill and had to vote with mobile sections, and most of them did not even know they were ill.

Voting machines
With regard to the machines, Boyko Rashkov said that the country had purchased a sufficient number of machines, with which it had secured the voting in the country and abroad.
They are stored exclusively and guarded by the gendarmerie. No one can have access to the machines without the permission of the CEC, including the employees who guard the warehouse. These machines are supplied by Ciela Norma and the CEC has the appropriate purchasing relations This has already happened once and we have not witnessed any abuses of the machines and we have not found any serious violations in the election process. I do not know why all this panic from GERB. the discoveries we made about the construction of the Hemus Motorway were admitted by Boyko Rashkov.

The machines ordered by the CEC were delivered via Greece by water transport.
“Personally, I have had occasion, seeing how the delivery is progressing over time, to discuss with the Greek interior minister the delay of the machines, and I was told that there was no reason other than a strike at the port of Piraeus,” he said.
The fact that Ciela Norma has bought and imported other machines is their business, not the Bulgarian state’s, Rashkov added, specifying that they are stored in a warehouse owned by the company itself.
Organization of elections
The machines start today. The first trucks leave at 1 pm, and the last one has to leave the logistics center at 7 pm. Today they will travel to the regional centers outside the capital – a total of 26. Tomorrow after 6 am the equipment will be escorted to Sofia region and Sofia city.
According to Chief Commissioner Todor Grebenarov, the organization is docked in all regional centers.
