/ world today news/ “I have categorically stated, for 12 years now, that I will not run for president. I joked because Rumen Petkov and I joked about this topic, including Parvanov. Everyone can attest to that. That’s how we joke.”
This was stated by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.
The prime minister complained that his jokes were not understood and then analyzed for days.
Borisov repeated again that it is still too early to announce who will be the GERB candidate for the upcoming presidential elections in the fall. His name would be known in June or even July. Until then, Borisov pointed out that very important international meetings with the participation of a number of heads of state and government are coming up, on which he and President Rosen Plevneliev are working.
The Prime Minister praised President Plevneliev for his interview on BNT yesterday and stated that in it he said many important things that should be analyzed. Regarding the statement of DSB leader Radan Kanev, who declared that he would support Plevneliev for a second presidential term, Borisov said: Either it is a bluff, or they aim to hurt Mr. Plevneliev, or I simply did not understand them correctly.
