The North Sea spa town of Büsum is known as a popular holiday destination. But there are also some who only discovered this place through social media. An account that reports on Büsum led to friends making each other. So what was the obvious thing to do was to meet in person.
In the Büsum Facebook group, which has been around since 2011, the first group meeting was arranged in 2014. Various active writers had the idea that people should also recognize each other. The women with a smiley scarf or something similar. After an intensive exchange, it should not just be a chance meeting. Uwe Reimann organized a joint meeting in the town hall park on July 27, 2014. Many people came, some were unable to make it, but they were able to follow the get-together via messenger, WhatsApp and webcam. Constance Voigt had even designed name tags, which Uwe Reimann printed out and handed out personally at the group meeting.
In May 2017, many people in the Büsum group no longer felt comfortable, so Uwe Reimann founded the group “Büsumer Klönschnack – the original”, a relatively small but manageable group. The participants grew together into a group that found more and more followers. The 10th anniversary was of course to be celebrated. Uwe Reimann and volunteers organized the meeting, cakes were baked, salads were prepared and donated. So the group met in the grill hut behind the youth hostel in a large group, first for coffee and then for a barbecue. Many participants had planned their vacation so that they could be there on this day. Everyone got to know each other better in personal conversations, they were able to exchange ideas and deepen their friendships.
Uwe Reimann thanked his wife Marion for her understanding that he had devoted a large part of his time to this group. Uwe Reimann was named “Oberklönschnacker” with an honorary certificate with the inscription: “Honorary certificate for the Oberklönschnacker and founder Uwe Reimann – Klönschnack 2014-2024 and forever. As a thank you and recognition for his constant willingness to ensure good humor and fun, and always to have an open ear. It’s great that you exist and that we have you.” He also received a T-shirt as a gift with the inscription “10 years of Büsumer Klönschnack and I’m one of them.” They sat together until late in the evening, celebrated vigorously and were convinced that this successful get-together would be repeated as soon as possible.
