The controversy continues between JK Rowling, author of Harry Potter, and part of the community of fans of the series. This time, involving an alleged boycott of Hogwarts Legacywhich will be released in 2023.
It all started with a tweet from Jessie Earl, a transgender filmmaker, who said she “don’t judge anyone by the author’s love for past works”, admitting that she has “the first nine films and seven books”, but saying that “any support for anything as harmful as Hogwarts legacy is.”
The author’s answer came with another tweets🇧🇷 Rowling said she was “disappointed” by the fact that it is “incompatible” to have that thought and have “anything” about it: “the right thing would be not only to burn the books and movies, but also the local bookstore, something with an owl and their pet dogs,” she said.
And she didn’t stop there. Rowling saw a user responding to Jessie’s post, which said it was OK to have Harry Potter content but not show it in public: “no one will ever know.” More a chirpJK joked, “Saying you’ve never done it in public isn’t going to save you when the police see your Hufflepuff socks.”
