/ world today news/ Irina’s engagement with Kristalina was dictated and imposed from the outside by the “sovereign” Bulgarian government, which spews insane nonsense to justify its stupid behavior. The goal is to totally eliminate Irina Bokova. In this way, the way will be cleared for another candidate backed by one of our “strategic” allies. My suspicions are that it is a case of elegantly pushing the candidacy of Antonio Guterres.
This was commented by Boyan Chukov on the occasion of the government’s decision to withdraw its support from Irina Bokova in the battle for UN Secretary General and to promote the candidacy of Kristalina Georgieva.
The casting has been talked about for a long time, but it was officially announced yesterday by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and motivated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov.
This gave the analyst Boyan Chukov a reason to define our foreign policy as a “job of ishleme”.
“Mr. Dani is a unique case! He will be the first “Bulgarian” foreign minister to work on Bulgaria’s foreign policy.

(work done) with materials supplied by the client/customer” – Chukov wrote on his Facebook page.
“The government has made a clear decision – we have withdrawn our support from the previous nomination and have transferred it to Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva. There is no procedure within the UN for a country to withdraw a nomination. It depends on the candidate himself,” Daniel Mitov said yesterday.
“Even if the Dalai Lama had nominated the BSP, he would still have said that Ms. Bokova has the best chances. It is a pre-election situation, presidential elections are approaching. It is clear that they will now demand resignations and their opposition speech will become more and more harsh, there is nothing abnormal about that. We have very rational arguments, not filled with any emotion,” Mitov commented on the readiness of the Socialists for a vote of no confidence in the government because of foreign policy.
The inclusion of Kristalina Georgieva in the race for the UN caused rapid reactions from different directions. This is how Boyan Chukov commented:
In recent days, the titanic Bulgarian-Bulgarian battle over who will head the UN has become increasingly grotesque. Thanks to Prime Minister Borissov, our country has been put in a humiliating and shameful situation. The question is not at all related to whether Bokova is better than Georgieva or vice versa. The problem is that Bulgaria has become a laughing stock in the eyes of the whole world. In the person of Irina Bokova, our country had a real chance to boast of a UN Secretary General. Whether someone likes Irina Bokova in our country or not does not matter at all at this moment. There is no fool who would think that Irina Bokova will remain the Director General of UNESCO, Kristalina Georgieva will be elected Secretary General of the United Nations, and the vacant place from the Bulgarian quota for European Commissioner in Brussels will be occupied by Rosen Plevneliev and make a replacement for Donald Tusk? For example! Or will they make him Jens Stoltenberg’s replacement? 😉 In general, we Bulgarians will lead three of the main international organizations. Funny, isn’t it!
I believe that Irina’s casting with Kristalina was dictated and imposed from the outside by the “sovereign” Bulgarian government, which spews insane nonsense to justify its stupid behavior. The goal is to totally eliminate Irina Bokova. In this way, the way will be cleared for another candidate , behind which stands one of our “strategic” allies. My suspicions are that it is a case of elegantly pushing the candidacy of Antonio Guterres. Let’s not forget that he has “done” a good job in the last two years. There are certain merits to certain transnational factors. He diligently encouraged the flow of refugees to Europe from the position of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees by actively doing nothing. It is not only Portugal that stands behind Antonio Guterres , but also one of the permanent members of the UN Security Council, known as an outstanding strategist.
A surprise is also possible. A completely new application. But it’s unlikely. It is more certain that in another month Kristalina Georgieva will have to look for a new job.
