A 12-year-old boy was killed Thursday night in a shooting that also left a woman injured, police said.
The 20-year-old woman, who was shot three times, was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover.
The boy died at the scene near Linden Boulevard and East 56th Street in Brooklyn.
The uniformed officer did not reveal in which part of the body the minor was hit, nor did they report the relationship between the woman and the child, nor did they provide a possible motive for the shooting.
Mayor Eric Adams was briefed on the shooting, a spokesman said. He was on his way to the location Thursday night.
Police asked residents to avoid the area due to the investigation.
