Entrepreneur Garibaldi Thohir or Boy Thohir claims that one-third of contributors to the Indonesian economy are ready to help win pair number 2 Prabowo Subianto–Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election.
Boy conveyed this at the United States Alumni Erick Thohir Volunteer event at Plaza Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (22/1) evening. Prabowo, and Erick Thohir, who is Boy’s younger brother, were present at the event.
“Even though we are small in number, in this room maybe a third of Indonesia’s economy is here,” said Boy.
“Starting from the Djarum Group, Sampoerna Group, Adaro Group, who else, basically all the groups are here, there is Ninin, the richest woman in Indonesia, and all of them, sir,” he added.
Boy then expressed his thanks for Prabowo’s arrival. He said he was ready to win Prabowo-Gibran in one round.
“Thank you for your presence, this is extraordinary, it has lifted our spirits for this one round,” he said.
On the same occasion, Prabowo admitted that he felt honored to have been invited.
Prabowo joked that he had lost in the two previous presidential elections because he had never been invited to a similar event. Prabowo also admitted that he was optimistic in this presidential election.
“It’s a great honor, I only now understand why I lost the presidential election twice, because I wasn’t invited here before,” said Prabowo.
