A boy sank into quicksand on the beach at the Asterdplas in Breda on Wednesday afternoon. He sank to his waist and was stuck as a rock.
The fire department had to dig the boy out with shovels. It took about fifteen minutes for the boy to be freed. Another boy was able to get out of the sand on his own.
Due to the heavy amount of rain of the past few days, the beach was soaking wet. That may have caused the boy to sink so low.
