Boy gets so freaked out in Call of Duty that he gets kicked off the school team and somehow becomes famous

Trash talk is part of the Call of Duty shooter. But one boy overdid it at a tournament and got kicked out of his school team for it. His new found fame was his undoing.

This is the situation:

  • “School sport” is a much bigger deal in the USA than it is here in Germany. Where clubs compete in sporting competitions outside of school, in the USA this is done in schools. Traditionally in sports like football or basketball.
  • In the USA, however, the shooter “Call of Duty” is also played as a school sport.
  • Outside of school sports: Two teams met in a $3,000 4 on 4 tournament hosted by the Content Gaming Network in Destiny, Florida. But that escalated.

Clip of fight after Call of Duty match gets 7M views

This is the clip that went viral: After the match between the two teams, ColdFront and Valence, there was extensive trash talk between the young men.

Across rows of PCs, players on both teams screamed at each other at the top of their lungs. Essentially, you were telling each other to “fuck off,” “just be shit,” or “a piece of shit.”

The clip received over 7.7 million views.

One player particularly stood out in scenes. He puffed himself up and cried:

where is the owner Hey, this is the second time you’ve sent a team from Florida to lose to me! You’re wasting thousands of dollars losing to me.

The clips have been going around the world in the last few days and have received a lot of attention. The clip received 7.7 million views on Barstool Esports alone.

School kicks players out of esports program

That’s the punishment now: The clip of the argument got so many views that it went viral and even one of the players’ school couldn’t ignore it. A player known as “Q” reports that he was kicked out of his school’s esports program for making that trash talk at a “Local Tournament” which, according to him, just goes to Call of duty.

He said nothing racist or sexist, nothing offensive. He could hardly just sit and be yelled at without defending himself.

There was then a statement from “Miami University” that one upholds love and honor in all aspects of life. You are convinced that you should treat your opponents with respect, whether on the computer or in real life.

The “player in question” broke this agreement and therefore measures were taken (via twitter).

Q was annoyed afterwards: he had been warned before he was kicked out, but it was only about small things: he had shot at corpses and used the Owen Gun against a school team that was already leading high.

Why did it escalate like this? According to the player, there had been bad blood between the two teams for some time. The owner of the other team accused him of abusing the attention drug Adderall. That’s why he let himself go after a catch-up win. But it’s important to him that people know: he doesn’t have a problem with the players on the opposing team – only with the owner.

Q says he regrets being expelled from his school team. However, he now has many more followers on Twitter.

It has often happened that after an e-sports match it continued again in the “real world”:

Gaming teams attack each other live after the match because the handshake failed
