The accident occurred yesterday evening around 8:30 pm at the intersection of Loosduinseweg and Gaslaan in The Hague. A family crossed the street at a pedestrian crossing. The family’s 6-year-old son was almost across the street when the driver of a light-colored car hit him. He presumably he went through a red light.

The driver would have continued at the same speed without slowing down. Passers-by called emergency services immediately after the incident. When the police arrived, the victim was unconscious. Air ambulance personnel and other emergency services provided first aid to the seriously injured boy. He was rushed to the hospital.
