On Sunday afternoon, the emergency services moved out to national road 9 in Bygland in Setesdal.
A car had spun around on the slippery road. When the next car stopped to help, this car was hit by a bus.
The police state that a child is flown by air ambulance to hospital.
– A five-year-old boy is flown by air ambulance to hospital. The extent of his damage is unknown, says operations manager Eyvind Formo at Agder police district to TV 2.
The other people who were involved in the accident are being treated by health locally in Setesdal.
– There were seven people in one car and five in the other. In addition, there were many passengers on the bus, says the operations manager.
A new bus has been sent to the site to carry the passengers on.
The reason why the first car spun is currently unknown, but according to the police, there was a slippery road at the scene of the accident.
– The work at the accident site is still ongoing. There is a lot of traffic down from the mountains as it is the end of winter holidays in this area today. The traffic slides slowly past the accident site, says Formo.
The police state that the road will probably be closed when heavy truck salvage is in place.
