The man fled on November 30 while on supervised leave in Nijmegen and later that day stabbed a 27-year-old woman in Soest. She was seriously injured. The perpetrator and the victim knew each other. According to the police it is intimate partner violence.
The 31-year-old TBS man managed to escape his supervisor thanks to accomplices and a waiting car. The OM suspects the teenager and his 38-year-old mother of accomplices.
Earlier, a nineteen-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of aiding the escape. He was released on Monday afternoon and is no longer a suspect in the investigation.
According to Rijnmond the sixteen-year-old boy was present for a long time in the apartment where the forensic detainee attacked the victim. The 27-year-old woman was said to have been stabbed no fewer than twelve times with a carving knife. She asked the boy for help, but the teenager did nothing, according to the regional broadcaster.
