The scooter rider who died in an accident in Bergen op Zoom on Saturday evening is a 16-year-old boy from the municipality of Woensdrecht. The police made the announcement on Sunday morning.
The scooter rider collided with a car around 6:30 a.m. That happened on the Huijbergsebaan in Bergen op Zoom. Emergency services have tried to resuscitate the boy, but to no avail. The boy died at the scene of the accident.
The woman driving the car escaped without injury. Police traffic specialists are investigating how the accident could have happened.
