Charlo posted bail on three charges of second degree theft and was released, according to KSAT-TV.
According to a police report, Charlo’s credit card was turned down for a big bill at a bar on the night of July 15-16, on the eve of the super welterweight title unification fight involving his Brother Jermell.
Bar workers told police Charlo accused a waitress of losing her credit card and demanded that she pay the bill for him. The report establishes that a CCTV recording shows Charlo rummaging through two of the waitress’ cash registers, which contained her ID and another customer’s cash payment. When the filing cabinets were returned, they were empty.
Charlo’s attorney, Kent Schaffer, told KSAT-TV his client “didn’t steal money from anyone in the club and didn’t threaten anyone. At no time did he take property belonging to someone else ”.
Charlo has won his 32 professional fights, the last by unanimous decision against Mexican Juan Macias Montiel in June in Houston.
