Düsseldorf. It’s the TV comeback of the year: Stefan Raab will be stepping into the boxing ring with Regina Halmich in Düsseldorf on Saturday. We’ll be reporting on the scene.
There was a huge media response when Stefan Raab announced his TV comeback on social media in April this year. Nine years after his tearful departure from the television business, the former “TV Total” presenter is returning to the scene. On Saturday (September 14), the now 57-year-old will lace up his boxing gloves and step into the ring once again in Düsseldorf’s PSD Bank Dome. And just like in 2001 and 2007, Raab will compete against former boxing world champion Regina Halmich.

Stefan Raab’s surprising return to the limelight began on Instagram in the spring. After the trained butcher from Cologne gave up his career in front of the camera in December 2015, he published a short video with his long-time companion Elton in March 2024. In the video, Stefan Raab joked that he would return as an influencer in order to collect as many followers as Pamela Reif – nine million to be exact. Although this goal was missed, the media attention was still enormous.

Three days later, the TV presenter announced that he would return to the ring – and compete against ex-boxer Regina Halmich for the third time. In the past few days, Raab has published more videos on Instagram. There he can be seen in a fat suit, among other things, together with his fitness trainer Pamela Reif.
