What a spectacle in East Hesse: Bad Hersfeld experiences a magical boxing night in the Schilde Hall. Around 1,000 spectators got what they had hoped for. First-class boxing with spectacular fights. And two winners from East Hesse.
Above all, Arthur Mann. The 33-year-old professional boxer lived in Bad Hersfeld for a few years and made his dream come true on Saturday evening in the Schilde Hall and was crowned the new World Boxing Federation (WBF) cruiserweight world champion. In a hot duel he defeated the bravely fighting Romanian Ion Mihai Desrobitu (30)..
“It’s unbelievable how many people are here. I feel like Brad Pitt right now. I would like to thank everyone here in Bad Hersfeld, they have made my dream come true. Thank you very much,” Mann said shortly after the fight EAST HESSEN|NEWS. The fans cheered him on and celebrated with shouts of “Artur, Artur.”
Fuldaer wins his professional debut
Just as happy: Domenik Arnold. The 20-year-old boxer from Fulda showed a very strong performance in his first professional fight and brought the hall to a boil. He won confidently against 31-year-old Milos Janjanin from Bosnia and Herzegovina. What was Arnold’s first professional fight like? “Very nice, wonderful. The atmosphere was good. The people were in a good mood, I was in a good mood, especially in the ring. I think my opponent was also in a good mood, just not in the end,” said the happy East Hesse. He’ll celebrate relaxed with the family, eat something and he wants to train again the next day. The next professional fight is already waiting in Krefeld in December.
Viktor Temirov and Robin Zamora give each other nothing
The fight between Viktor Temirov and Spaniard Robin Zamora for the Europe-Asia super welterweight belt was not for the faint of heart. If you can’t see blood, you were in the wrong place. Both opponents gave each other nothing, but absolutely nothing. Ultimately, Temirov prevailed on points. The Canadian Salar Gholami, on the other hand, played “cat and mouse” with his opponent. There was no tension here, the difference was too clear. His show, on the other hand, was extraordinary.
A good five hours of boxing in the Bad Hersfeld Schilde Hall made for a wonderful evening of sports. The location was perfect, organizer Waldemar Brenner and his team celebrated a successful premiere as boxing organizers. “It was a great event, a sensational location, cool fights,” said moderator and ring announcer Ingo Rohrbach in an initial statement. The return of the three Hersfeld boys, the home coming – it was a real highlight in the city’s sporting history. “Bad Hersfeld, I love you,” Artur Mann shouted to the cheering audience shortly after his fight.
