A multiplication of collections to come
Doctor Dominique Legrand, regional director of the French Blood Establishment (EFS) Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, specified that the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region is the first French region in number of donations. One thousand four hundred pockets are needed per day. However, with Doctor Nathalie Jaussaud, from the EFS of Bourg-en-Bresse, she launched an appeal for donations, stating, “to spend the summer in peace, there are 30,000 pockets missing in France”. During the pandemic, there were obstacles to direct debits, through teleworking and the abolition of certain collections. Today, some donors have lost the habit of giving.
An operation is therefore launched from June 12 to July 3 with the slogan “blood donors, all caregivers”. Collections will be multiplied and the dates are available on the EFS website.
