The great passion of twelve year old Binti is her creative vlog. Always and everywhere she keeps the camera on and shows herself confident and lively. Your father is the complete opposite. He doesn’t want to attract attention because he and Binti live illegally in Belgium. Due to a police raid, they have to leave their accommodation and unexpectedly end up with eleven-year-old Elias and his mother. While the children make the rescue of the okapis their common mission, tender bonds develop between their parents. But the fear of deportation overshadows the happy harmony.

«Binti» manages to tell tough topics such as immigration, broken families or the extinction of animals in a contemporary style. The tone of the director Frederike Migom (“Nkosi coiffure”) is never clumsy, but is full of charm and colorful, even in the darkest moments. The chemistry between the father-daughter team is great and very charismatic, as they are also father and daughter in real life.
