A surge of solidarity around a company after the fire which destroyed the premises of the processed products store. A few dozen people gathered last Sunday in an artisanal village, at the Bourg de Bouillante market, in support of the disaster victims.

It was last October 17. During the evening, residents of rue Adrien Ladjyn were alerted. A store located behind the post office is on fire.
While the firefighters intervene, Cédric Zélie’s entire assets go up in smoke. In this shop, he sold processed products but also local craft items.
In the early morning, the vision that passers-by have of the site is unbearable: nothing remains. And behind this disaster, two victims with mixed interests: Cédric Zélie, a Habissois who settled there last year. He has lost at least 10,000 Euros. As for the owner of the house, Florine Fairfort, she has just lost a home valued at €70,000
Affected by this situation which impacts a woman known by the Bouillantais, a solidarity action was initiated by several people from the town.
For everyone, it was above all a question of showing support and above all, of seeing what can be done to alleviate Florine’s situation. The operation raised €3,000.
For Florine, the gesture itself is already very moving.
As for Cédric, a month after the fire he is still shocked by the situation he is going through. He would like to restart his business but for the moment, he still does not know what he will do. He silently remembers this old Guadeloupean adage from which he wants to get rid of: La dévenn sé on fanm fôl! (bad luck strikes blindly)
