At 6.30 pm the preformers will report again to the king. They seem to have been able to restore trust among themselves, something the king insisted on.

The respective chairmen of Open VLD and SP.A had offered their resignation to the king on Monday evening. On Monday afternoon, SP.A vetoed further cooperation with the French-speaking liberals after a Humo interview by MR chairman Georges-Louis Bouchez. He had made it clear in an interview that his party colleague Sophie Wilmès would remain prime minister and he also returned to the agreements made. The party bureau of SP.A then indicated that it no longer wanted to negotiate with the MR.
But the king refused and the preformers were asked to continue their assignment.
