In the town of Mouriès (Bouches-du-Rhône), a fire broke out this Saturday around 5:30 am. 80 firefighters and around twenty vehicles were mobilized.
Very early this morning, the town of Mouriès was invaded by flames. It is at a place called Baumettes very precisely, that the fire started. If this place is close to the Alpilles massif, the latter is not threatened. The fire is heading towards the southeast, towards the Malacercis district and the town of Aureille.
A vegetation fire has been raging since 5:30 a.m. in the town of Mouries, fueled by a mistral blowing between 90 and 100 km / h in gusts. The fire would have started in the Baumettes sector and would now be in the Malacercis sector. Be careful in the area. pic.twitter.com/8NT7SVLkHJ

To extinguish the fire, 80 firefighters are on site. In a first report published at 8:30 am, they specify that “the fire is fixed on the domain of Malacercis”. “The command post was installed at Pin la Fée in the presence of the mayors of Aureille and Mouriès”, it is specified. While at the time of their press release, some 130 hectares of scrubland had been burned, the firefighters assure that the situation is “rather favorable”, despite the strong winds with gusts of up to 110km / h this Saturday.
For the moment, the departmental roads D24 and D24a are cut. Power outages are also to be expected. Several homes have been placed under protection. The gendarmerie, for its part, indicated that it had carried out the preventive evacuation of eight people, who were not injured.
