The decision will be made at the end of August: an extraordinary community meeting is required for the loan for the new kindergarten building
The Bottighofen school community has taken a step backwards in the construction project for a new kindergarten and after-school care center. The recommendations of the working group should be available at the end of May, followed a month later by an information event, and at the end of August the voters will finally decide on the loan.
Postponed is not cancelled. Dario My, president of the primary school community in Bottighofen, made this clear again at the school community meeting on Tuesday evening.
It’s about expanding the classroom. At the last meeting in early December 2022, the loan application for CHF 300,000 for a project competition was postponed. Three weeks earlier, the school authorities had presented their plans for the construction of a new triple kindergarten with rooms for the day-care center on the upper floor at an information event.
The existing sports field area was chosen as the location for this. The amount of around CHF 15 million was mentioned as a rough estimate of the costs for “Vision 2030”, which, however, includes further adjustments to the entire school area. “After this event, we received important feedback from the population,” says My.
Credit comes to the vote in August
The Echo Room working group was then set up, which has three tasks, as My explains. She should take the feedback from the population, evaluate the location for the new building and make a recommendation to the school authorities by the end of May. “The working group started in January and has met five times so far.”
In a next step, a concept is to be presented at an information event on June 20th. “Then we will also say something about the finances,” promises My. Finally, on August 24th, the loan will be voted on at an extraordinary community meeting.
The 70 voters present then approved the 2022 bill unanimously and without discussion. With expenses of a good 4.65 million francs and income of around 4.74 million francs, it closes with a plus of a good 91,000 francs.
A deficit and two goodbyes
At the meeting of the political municipality of Bottighofen, the 72 voters present unanimously approve the annual accounts for 2022. It closes with an expense of a good 5.5 million francs and an income of around 4.8 million francs with a minus of a good 700,000 francs. The loan application for a good CHF 1 million for the renovation of Lengwilerstrasse was also approved unanimously.
It is the last meeting of the two councilors Beat Müller and Raphael Lüscher. Mayor Matthias Hofmann bids farewell to you with gifts and words of thanks. Ursula Frei and Markus Brack will take over from the new legislature. (rha)
