Bottega Veneta’s “Bottega for Bottegas” Initiative Honors Artisans Worldwide

Bottega essentially means ‘workshop’ in Italian, a fact that the brand wants to take literally. For the third year in a row, the initiative “Bottega for Bottegas”, in which artisans from all over the world can receive some of the global visibility of the Italian giant. Starting this December, the website, newsletter and showcase of flagship Bottega Veneta store in Milan will honor the bottegas in celebration of craftsmanship.

Those chosen this time were: the Taiwanese artist Cheng Tsung Feng, which studies traditional craft culture by researching areas prone to oblivion, preserving techniques while creating works of art of different sizes and shapes; the Chinese Liu Wenhui, which specializes in the research, design and development of building blocks inspired by ancient Chinese architecture; the South Korean artisan See Rhee, which preserves its country’s 19th-century kite-making crafts; and the Italian workshop “Modiano”founded in 1868 by Saul Modiano specializing in the design and production of playing cards, tarot cards and other paper products.

The first edition of the project featured only bottegas from Italy, while in the second the focus was on bottegas from around the world that were inspired by Italian culture. This year, The selected four use their creativity and inimitable skills to empower imagination and inspire unity.
