Bottas makes himself heard after crash in Hungary: “It was my fault”

Bottas made a mistake shortly after the start in Turn 1, tapped Lando Norris and it then hit Verstappen’s car. The Dutchman was able to continue his race, but drove a badly damaged car. Bottas reacts to his mistake at the start

“Didn’t finish”, Bottas begins his message, referring to his own ‘result’. “It was my mistake today. I misjudged the braking for Turn 1 in these rainy conditions. This ended my race, and those of many others. I will learn from it and I will come back charged for second half of the season.”

After Bottas thought about his own mistake, he also wanted to congratulate a number of drivers, including teammate Hamilton, who took full advantage of the damage at Verstappen. Also race winner Esteban Ocon received a compliment from the 31-year-old Mercedes driver. “Congratulations to Ocon for winning the race!” Bottas wrote. “And good to see Hamilton fought his way back to the podium and took important points!”
