But unfortunately, not many people can distinguish between DHF and Covid-19, because they both have symptoms of fever. So, the question is what is the difference between Covid-19 and DHF?
explained dr. Winda Agnestia Maranna Saragih, Internal Medicine Specialist at the Kembangan Hospital that the difference starts from the cause. If Covid-19 is caused by the corona virus or SAR CoV 2, then DHF is caused by the dengue virus which is transmitted and carried by mosquitoes.
“Differentiating is a bit difficult at first, because the only symptom is fever,” said dr. Winda, in a discussion between the DKI Jakarta Health Office and Elshinta, Thursday (6/1/2022).

Meanwhile, when viewed from the symptoms, in Covid-19 generally fever is accompanied by respiratory symptoms, such as dry cough, to loss of sense of smell (anosmia).
“There is contact with people who are exposed and there is a history of traveling,” said dr. Winda.
However, in dengue fever symptoms tend to be accompanied by respiratory complaints, such as nausea and vomiting, headaches, reddish spots appear on the hands and feet.
