SOUTH HESSEN – southern Hesse. FC Alsbach won the top game on the first day of the Darmstadt soccer group league 4-2 against SG Langstadt/Babenhausen. FCA Darmstadt had no trouble with newly promoted TSV Auerbach in a 5-2 home win.
FC Alsbach – SG Langstadt/Babenhausen 4:2 (3:1). “We started very nervously, but recovered after the 1-0 lead,” said Alsbach’s new coach Steffen Gils at the start of his team’s new season. With D’Addona’s 1-0 lead (10′), Alsbach’s game was safer. With Schilcher’s 2-0 lead (17′), FCA continued to gain momentum, but Haberkorn’s goal (20′) initially stopped the run. The guests now had more possession, but Alsbach’s defense managed to keep the SG away from the penalty area. “That was our plan too. Langstadt/Babenhausen shouldn’t have great chances to score. We largely succeeded in that,” added Alsbach’s satisfied coach.
It was also good for FCA that Götz was able to make it 3-1 just before the break. After the change, the hosts largely retained control. Langstadt could have shortened but didn’t take advantage of his chances. Götz did better (83rd), who scored to make it 4-1. Again Haberkorn (85th) reduced the lead to 2:4, but this did not call into question Alsbach’s victory.
FCA Darmstadt – TSV Auerbach 5:2 (3:0). The newcomers from Auerbach presented themselves in impressive form in the early stages and put Darmstadt’s defense under pressure. After a quarter of an hour, however, FCA had the game under control. Ribeiro’s 1-0 lead (17′) brought the necessary confidence to develop a lot of pressure and playful superiority. Da Silva (22nd) increased to 2:0, but further chances remained unused. Only shortly before the break whistle did Zovis make it 3-0, which was like a decision. Darmstadt then reduced the pressure so that Proenca (72′) was only able to increase the lead to 4-0 in the middle of the second half. Brunner’s connection (74′) was countered by FCA with Zovis’ 5-1 (80′). However, Auerbach set the final point with the 2:5 through Henke (83rd).
