The information was prepared by the Marketing Agency PR LINE.

On July 23, KKfon Strick Villa Park awaits guests with a bright music event in the tradition of the best outdoor festivals – Botany combines the concert of the independent cult group AloeVera, the dance set “Give the world a chance: John Lennon & Yoko Ono” and the cult Coachella atmosphere of love, peace and unparalleled style.

The main event of the evening, of course, will be the wonderful concert of the independent and now banned in Russia AloeVera. There will be a lot of joy, freedom, kisses, excitement and excitement. The concert will be the group’s third performance in Riga as part of the Botany Festival.

Group composition:

Vera Muaseljana, voice

Mikhail Jendza, guitar, microphone, drums

Artyom Klimenko, bass guitar, synthesizers, guitar, drum machine

Nikolai Alexeyev, guitar

Children up to ten years old – free entrance. Tickets can be purchased online at Bezrindas.lv.

Their songs are heard in films, but cover versions of popular performers always earn enthusiastic criticism. The secret of the band’s popularity is a true, open performance and musically perfect compositions, as well as a challenging and even a bit provocative repertoire. The band AloeVera has always been a favorite of concerts and festivals. But now musicians are virtually banned in Russia. This was influenced by the marriage of the soloist Vera Muasseljan to the Russian opposition Ilya Yashin, as well as the condemnation of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which the musicians spoke about in public. The Botany Festival calls for cultural contacts with independent Russian artists and support for our friends’ efforts to achieve peace!

The set “Give the world a chance” will be performed by DJ Denis Funk – a musician, producer, leader of the musical ensemble FunCOOLio, music lover and collector of vinyl records with more than 15 years of experience. “Despite the widespread demand for records for a long time, the vinyl music culture is still alive and well. All fans of vinyl records are united by a certain elitism, an opportunity to listen to what not everyone is listening to,” says Dennis. “Give the World a Chance” is a famous John Lennon song, the anthem of all anti-war activists. The music to be played on this set of vinyl records is inspired by the legendary World Peace Campaign organized in 1969 by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

We try to “sell” the idea of peace just like any other product, such as soap or carbonated drinks. It is the only way to show people that peace is possible and that violence is not an inevitable need, John Lennon said at the time.

The taste of the festival – Martini Fiero. Its bright, refreshing taste with notes of juicy red orange will be the basis for this summer’s best recipes. The villa’s garden will turn into a carefree Martini Fiero room with colorful loungers, chairs, bars and great photo spaces for one night.

The decorations of the festival have been prepared by the creative studio OH MY CARTON !, which creates wonderful art objects from cardboard.

The Botany Festival seeks experiments, allowing its audience to learn about rare, niche, but no less important or current phenomena in modern culture. The projects of the festival resonate extremely precisely with today’s events. In May and June, the festival will host a meeting with popular film critic Anton Dolin. Other events are also expected: public talks, concerts and creative meetings.

The Botany Festival was founded in 2019 with the aim of bringing current projects to Riga, discovering new artists, supplementing the city’s cultural events program with a new format, and promoting intercultural communication. The title reflects the authors’ desire to carefully select musical materials.

In addition to music events, the festival organizes projects in the fields of art, cinema, poetry, as well as meetings with influential personalities in various fields of culture and public life. Several independent Russian musicians performed in Riga during the festival: the groups AloeVera, Oqjav, VIA Tatiana, singers Zhen Lubich and Varvar Wisborne.
