O Botafogo registered a loss of almost R$ 128 thousand at the box office at the opening Brazilian championship last Saturday, in the victory over São Paulo by 2 to 1 no Nilton Santos Stadium. The paying public was 10,618, with income of R$ 733,920.00.
The damage was largely due to the new rule of CBF for this year’s national competitions, related to tickets for member-fans. Now, clubs are required to deduct the value of tickets that exceed the half-entry price from the statement.
In this case, Botafogo ended up spending the amount of R$ 375,620.00, referring to the difference in tickets intended for member-fans who checked in or who had discounts of more than 50% on the ticket price. About 55% of the paying alvinegros were members of the “shirt 7“.
The average ticket for Botafogo’s first game back to Nilton Santos was R$ 69.12. For the next matches, already including this Thursday’s game against Universidad César Vallejo, prices have changed, with the East Superior sector costing R$60, East Inferior R$150 and West Inferior, R$200 (full price) .
