star of Botafogo, Tiquinho Soares continues to collect records. When scoring against Palmeiras, the striker became the second highest scorer in the Brazilian championship after 12 rounds in the era of running points, according to a survey by journalist Rodolfo Rodrigues.
Tiquinho tied with Gabriel Jesus, who scored 10 goals in the first 12 rounds of the 2016 edition, and was only behind Josiel, who scored 12 goals at that point in the Brasileirão-2007. Josiel would end up as top scorer in that competition, with 20 goals.
