Qualified for the third stage of the Brazil’s Cup with a 7-1 defeat of Brasiliense, the Botafogo will be in Pot 1 of the draw – which still has no set date – and will flee from a confrontation against the most powerful clubs.
There are still three clashes left this Thursday for all 32 classified to be known. The third phase has the clubs that compete in the Libertadores and will be held only in April, on the 12th and 26th, in a round trip system.
As part of Pot 1, Botafogo can face any team from Pot 2. CRB, Náutico, Remo, Tombense, Brasil-RS, Paysandu, Ituano, Botafogo-SP, Volta Redonda, Ypiranga-RS, Nova Iguaçu, are already guaranteed in this group. Maringá and Eagle of Marabá.
Coritiba and Sport are currently in Pot 1, but could go to Pot 2 if Vasco and Grêmio eliminate ABC and Ferroviário, respectively. The winner of the duel between CSA and Brusque will also be in Pot 2.
The pots are divided according to the position in the National Ranking of Clubs of the CBF and will be closed this Thursday, with the end of the second phase.
