With little time to pre-season until the start of the Carioca Championship, the Botafogo traveled to Itu last Wednesday and stayed at the Otho Hotel Convention & Spa, training in two periods every day and working hard under the command of coach Tiago Nunes. The physical trainer Edy Carlos Soares praised the period away from Rio, highlighting a better environment and control over food and sleep, in addition, of course, to activities in the field.
– We know the great challenges we face this season. The fact that we leave Rio and come here is important, these are days of hard work and commitment, we can work very intensely and have the opportunity to have very firm control over our diet and sleep. Coexistence is also very important, Tiago is able to have different interactions on different specific topics, not only during training, but also at night. It has been a very fruitful few days – said Edy, to Botafogo TV.
– The club made every effort to ensure that we had the best structure here. All the material we have in Lonier we brought here. We have to focus on this moment of everyone being together, being able to work and recover with quality. The hotel is very good and in two, three minutes everyone is down here for training, the gym… Everyone can carry out their work in the best possible way – added the physical trainer.
Edy Carlos highly praised the commitment of the players and also of the reinforcements who are already integrated into the squad.
– The dedication and willingness with which they carry out the tasks is incredible. The new athletes arrived with a lot of enthusiasm, with a lot of desire to be able to do their best. This has been very important for us to form an increasingly stronger group and achieve great achievements this year – he concluded.
