Idols of Botafogo and Brazilian champion players in 1968 under the command of Zagallo, Carlos Roberto e Moreira they went to say goodbye to Velho Lobo this Sunday, at the wake that took place at the CBF headquarters.
Both gave an interview to “Fantástico”, on TV Globo. Moreira was very moved.
– I’m so emotional because I owe everything I am, that I was, to this gentleman called Mario Jorge Lobo Zagallo. Everything – said Moreira.
– Our initiation together with him was a success, it was total glory – recalled Carlos Roberto.
The two were part of one of the greatest teams in the history of Botafogo, two-time Rio champion in 1967/68 and Brazilian champion in 68. Zagallo was the coach of that squad, having been two-time Rio champion and two-time Rio-São Paulo champion with Glorioso as well as a player.
