Approximately 2,000 residents are expected to benefit from the program.
With the goal of helping low- and moderate-income residents participate in the city’s economic growth, Mayor Michelle Wu and Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development (OWD) recently announced the allocation of $3.9 million in funds from the Neighborhood Jobs Trust (NJT) to 24 community organizations in Boston.
The Neighborhood Jobs Trust is a public charitable trust established to ensure that residents directly benefit from large-scale real estate development in Boston through quality jobs, job training, and related services.
“The Neighborhood Jobs Trust is critical to connecting our residents to crucial job training and support services and ensuring Boston remains a home for all,” said Mayor Michelle Wu.
NJT funds support local organizations that provide job training and support services to low- and moderate-income adults, ensuring the full participation of all Boston residents in the economic vitality and future of the city.
Funding will be distributed to 24 community organizations
The grants, ranging from $50,000 to $1.37 million, will benefit approximately 2,000 residents and allow recipients to tap into $22 million in additional funding.
