Boston hit as a visitor and won a great game at the start of the finals – Radio Gol

The decisive instances of the NBA never disappoint and the first game of the finals was no exception. In a real game, Boston beat Golden State on the road 120-108. The match in San Francisco had it all, with a spectacular comeback by the Celtics in the fourth quarter. The two teams were fine in the launches and a high-flying confrontation was seen. Between the two they made 40 triples, 21 from Boston and 19 from Golden State.

The first set was a recital by Stephen Curry who made 6 triples and 21 points (out of 32 for his team), only in that period. With those numbers, he set the record for a starting fourth in a finals matchup. Despite that, Boston stayed close and trailed just 32-28. In the second quarter his defense showed off as he scored 28 points again but left his rival at 22 to go ahead 56-54.

The third was everything for the host, which is already a hallmark of the team. Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins joined Curry on offense and Kevon Looney excelled on defense. Golden State began the fourth quarter with a 12-point lead (92-80). The Celtics relied on the comeback and they did it with amazing effectiveness. In Boston almost all entered and surpassed the 38 points of the Warriors in the third quarter with a mark of 40 in the final quarter.

The local shooting percentage decreased and Marcus Smart (top scorer with 36), Al Horford (26), Jaylen Brown (24) and Derrick White (21) shone, key with his entry from the bench. Jayson Tatum didn’t have a great night from the shootout, scoring just 12 points on 3/17 shooting. Not only did Golden State lose home-court advantage, they beat it with a comeback, a great game from Curry and a lot of misses from the big rival star. On their court they had won all 9 games in these playoffs.

The next game in the series will be on Sunday, starting at 9:00 p.m., again in San Francisco. The finals will move to Boston on Wednesday, with Game 3.
