SACRAMENTO, California, USA. —
Jaylen Brown and Derrick White each scored 28 points to lead the depleted Boston Celtics to a 144-119 rout of the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, bouncing back from a disappointing loss at Golden State.
Boston blew a 17-point lead on Tuesday and fell to the Warriors in overtime. Against the Kings who had had a rest, the Celtics played without their leading scorer Jayson Tatum (injured an ankle) and without their Dominican center Al Horford (who had the day off).
But the Celtics looked fresher than their rivals, and achieved their sixth victory in seven games.
Kristaps Porzingis, who missed the game against Golden State with a calf injury, dominated the paint for Boston with 24 points, nine rebounds and six blocks.
The shooters led by White did the rest. The Celtics made 22 of 42 three-pointers after missing 41 of 58 long-range attempts in the loss to the Warriors.
De’Aaron Fox scored 29 points on his 26th birthday to lead the Kings, who had won three in a row.
