The Boston Celtics have extended invitations to forwards TJ Warren and Lamar Stevens for a workout this week, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
“Both players are being considered for a potential deal with the Celtics, who still have multiple open positions on their roster,” Charania said.
Warren, who will turn 30 on September 5, was with the Phoenix Suns and the Brooklyn Nets in the previous contest. In 42 games he averaged 7.5 points and 2.9 rebounds. It was his season back on the slopes after an injury to his left foot that kept him without playing for almost two years.
For his part, Stevens comes from completing his third year in the NBA, all with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Last month he was released by the San Antonio Spurs, the team that acquired him in the three-way trade that ended Max Strus in Cleveland.
Known for his defensive qualities, the 26-year-old finished with 5.3 points and 3.3 sacks in 62 games for Ohio.
