WASHINGTON._ Jaylen Brown scored 36 points and Jayson Tatum added 33 as the Boston Celtics won their third straight season-opening victory, beating the Washington Wizards 126-107 on Monday night.
It is the second consecutive season that the Celtics have started with three straight wins.
Kristaps Porzingis scored 15 points in his return with Washington, where he spent a season and a half. Porzingis was traded to Boston in June and scored 30 points in his first game with the Celtics on Wednesday, setting a franchise record for a rookie player.
Kyle Kuzma had 21 points for the Wizards (1-2), who trailed constantly in the game and trailed by 26 points after 10 minutes.
Brown contributed 16 points in the first quarter in which Boston escaped with a 42-19 lead. By halftime he already had 27 units.
Brown made his final basket midway through the third quarter as the Celtics built a 37-point lead and coach Joe Mazzulla rested the starters for the final 12 minutes.
