The National Basketball Association (NBA) team Boston “Celtics”, represented by Latvian star Kristaps Porziņgis, made an unexpected deal, acquiring one of the NBA’s best perimeter defense players, Drew Holliday, North American media reports.
The 33-year-old Holiday is a vital addition to the Celtics lineup. He is known as a defensive specialist who has been voted into the “All-Star” matches twice and became the NBA champion in 2021 together with the Milwaukee “Bucks”.
Now the “Celtics” can be proud of the unmistakably TOP 3 strongest lineup in the NBA, in which the main stars are Porzingis, Holiday, Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
In order to get Holliday, the Boston team had to part with two quite traumatic players – Robert Williams and Malcolm Brogdon. It has already been reported that Holliday was traded this week from the Bucks to the Portland Trail Blazers, who then sent him to the Celtics.
The new NBA season will start at the end of October. 82 regular championship games will be played in it, followed by a “play-in” tournament and a “play-off” competition, in which the winner of the tournament will be determined next summer. Also, next season, the newly created cup competition will take place for the first time, the matches of which will be counted in the regular season.
