A motorist was killed on Wednesday evening on the A59 near Terheijden. The car in which this man – a 44-year-old resident of Bossche – was driving was hit by another motorist. He was under the influence.
The collision took place around 11 a.m., just before the exit to Terheijden.
Driver’s license recovered
The fire brigade, ambulance staff and officers came en masse to the A59 to free the victim from the front car, but he could no longer be saved.
The other driver involved, a 36-year-old man from Breda, has been arrested. After the breath test showed that he was under the influence, a blood test was also taken from him. That should show exactly what he was under the influence of. The driver’s license has been recovered.
Debris
After the collision, the road was littered with debris and skid marks for a long distance, a 112 correspondent said. The rest of the traffic was directed by Rijkswaterstaat over the hard shoulder along the accident site.
It is being investigated how the collision could have taken place. Police are asking witnesses to come forward.
