Bosch, rapid test for Covid is coming: how the innovative model launched by the German company works. It will be possible to have the results in just 40 minutes
New turning point in the search for positivity to Covid-19. Bosch has indeed developed a new rapid test to detect the presence of the SarsCov2 virus, in absolutely record time. It will in fact be possible to receive the results in just 39 minutes, with a 98% reliability. A unicum at an international level up to now that will allow the health authorities of the various countries to control many more people during the day.
The new Bosch quick test is designed for use within motorway service stations or airports. As happens in our stop and go stations, with the checks in the car, also in this case people will have to wait in line for their results but with very short times, reducing queues and the multitude of checks. Model, CE approved, is now available throughout Europe and will help make travel and quarantine times safer, looking for positives in the area. “One of the keys to fighting the coronavirus pandemic is quickly identifying sources of infection. That’s why we focused on following up our first coronavirus test with an even faster one“, he claims Volkmar Denner, chairman of the board of Bosch. “This will now allow us to get people’s minds at ease even more quickly.”

But how does it work specifically?
A sample is taken from the patient’s nose or throat using a swab and inserted into the test cartridge. The test cartridge, which already contains all the necessary reagents, is inserted into the device Vivalytic for automated analysis. The device is designed to be easy to use and can be implemented even by unskilled operators.
Bosch’s goal by the end of the year is to reach one million rapid tests across Europe. We expect to be able to cover the needs of almost all countries with major infections.
