Bosch opens semiconductor board plant in Dresden based on artificial intelligence, after a record investment of one billion euros / Surprising things about microchips

The German group Bosch announced that it will open in Dresden a semiconductor board factory, fully connected, controlled by artificial intelligence, following an investment of approximately one billion euros, the largest single investment in the company’s history. The first chips will leave the production line in July, and after the completion of the unit, a number of 700 people will work here.

The Dresden plant will be equipped with highly automated, fully connected equipment and integrated processes, combined with artificial intelligence (AI), which will make it a smart factory and a pioneer in Industry 4.0.

The high-tech unit was officially inaugurated on June 7, 2021, in the virtual presence of Federal Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel, European Commission Vice President Margrethe Vestager, and Saxony Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer.
